I thought the dog would be excited watching all those juicy cyclists. He wasn’t !
K-Fest turns the town of Killorglin, Co.Kerry into a pop up Arts festival every June B-hol weekend. The town’s vacant premises, shops, commercial spaces & houses get turned into gallery’s for the duration of the festival. What a great idea! The public are given a real treat as a diverse range of Artists move in to display their work, in what are very welcoming and in-formal spaces.
Velocitylens had a great space in Gallery 14 to display a selection of cycling videos. It was full for most of the weekend as viewers could sit down and watch the videos on a big screen. I fully realise that the comfortable chairs were a big part of it, as exploring the nooks and crannies of a town is hard work and batteries need to be re-charged. Still, listening to the positive feedback and the stories was great fun. Some were ” married in that church” whilst others “met at the top of that pass” ( a proud 7 year old son then elaborated and informed the room that his Dad & Mam met “behind a rock” on that Pass. )
Lots of discussion about cameras, editing and roads went on all weekend, along with the odd Kerry v Cork in the beautiful landscape stakes.
